Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion in the Kitchen

by on , under Reference and Education

It has been said that knowledge of temperature conversion, and perhaps the temperature unit itself, is very important in the kitchen. Why is this so? Well, basically it is because, if one would notice, cooking and baking instructions in many cook books have a temperature requirement on them, for one to be able to come up with the properly cooked food. These temperature requirements are often in units of Fahrenheit, but then, most of us have been trained to see temperature in units of Celsius. So, basically that’s the reason why we should somehow have the needed know how about Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion.

The Tricky Fact About Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion

The one tricky thing about converting Fahrenheits to Celsius is the fact that it is actually not zero degrees Fahrenheit is equal to zero degrees Celsius also. Actually, Fahrenheit has a bigger temperature threshold than Celsius, so if we say zero degrees Fahrenheit, well then, that’s a super cold temperature already! That’s because zero degrees Fahrenheit would be equal to negative 32 degrees Celsius! So, the next time we go to a doctor and have him check our kid’s temperature, listen carefully if the temperature unit is in Celsius or in Fahrenheit. Then, apply the Math.
